My wife recently introduced me to a restaurant located in Sg. Dua off JPJ training school and near Sg. Nibong Bus terminal, the location is secluded. We had a bit of trouble looking for the location but in the end manage to find it. The restaurant name is 'My Second Home'. The first glance at the place would bring nostalgic memories of your home. Especially if you come from a kampung style hometown.

The steamboat is not cooked in the traditional stainless steel pot but instead a clay pot which makes it even more unique. During the time we patronage the restaurant was empty. We went there at around 8pm. Which gives it a really peaceful setting.

When your seated your given a choice of 4 types of soups. Tom Yam, Clear Soup, Milk Soup and Chicken Herbal Soup. They do offer a refill of another type of soup if you firstly finish the first soup. Me and my wife chose Milk soup and to our surprise it does not taste milky at all, it taste a bit like mushroom soup cream. Maybe its because of the mushroom we added to the soup. For the first round we added the seafood ingredients to the soup. and we had 3 rounds of dishes and it was very filling but delicious we also had a change of soup for the chicken herbal soup.

If your hungry and couldn't wait for the main dishes to come, they do have a buffet table. Filled with raw ingredients for the steamboat at one side, eggs, seaweed, maggie, mee, bihun, vegetable and so on. While the other side is spaghetti, bite-size sandwiches and fried dumplings. And you also have the dessert corner, they also have those ice pop stickles which literary brings nostalgic memories. Too bad i didnt had the opportunity to take some pictures of the interior

The food they offer is very rustic and homey feeling, nothing really fancy, because the dishes they offer for the steamboat are simple dishes that you get to enjoy at home during a steamboat with the family. The surplus its a buffet. They first will give you an ordering sheet and you select what items you want. To give you a glimpse of what they offer, fishballs, sausages, sparrow eggs, prawns, prawn mantis, lotus root, fish, chicken, crab meat and etc.

Overall, the place seems to have a nice atmosphere to it. If your out for a reasonably priced steamboat and looking for something that is not that fancy, then My Second Home makes it a place to be, its priced less then RM20 per head and its a great place to bring family gathering, reunions or celebrations.
